Longest-running comic published weekly

British comic-book The Beano was launched on 30 July 1938 by D C Thomson, and has been published weekly ever since, except for a period during World War II, when its frequency was reduced owing to paper shortages. As of 4 September 2018, The Beano had been published for 3,950 issues, making it the longest-running weekly comic to have retained its name and numbering system throughout its history.
