Backyard ultramarathons challenge competitors to complete a run of 6.706 kilometres (equivalent to 100 miles divided by 24) every hour until only one runner remains. Winners can only complete one more lap than the second-placed runner. Lewis outlasted Ihor Verys (107 laps) as he smashed the backyard ultra world record, running 450 miles (724 kilometres) in five days.
